How do I install MiniPOS?

MiniPOS is currently distributed as a direct APK download while our Play Store listing is under review. Download the Admin App or Cashier App from pos.co.zw/apps, then tap Install. Android may show a Play Protect warning since the app isn't from the Play Store yet — this is expected and safe to bypass.

Why does Android warn me when I install MiniPOS?

Android's Play Protect flags any app installed outside the Play Store, regardless of safety, simply because it can't verify the source yet. Since MiniPOS is pending Play Store approval, you'll see a warning — tap Details, then Install Anyway to proceed. This is a standard Android behaviour, not a sign of a problem with the app.

Download the APK

Tap the download button above on your Android phone. Chrome will save the file to your Downloads folder.

Open the downloaded file

Tap the notification, or open it from your Downloads app / file manager.

If Android blocks it — tap "Details" → "Install anyway"

You'll likely see a Play Protect warning that says "This app is not safe" or "Unsafe app blocked." Tap Details, then tap Install anyway. This warning appears for every app installed outside the Play Store — it isn't specific to MiniPOS.

Allow "install unknown apps" if asked

Some phones ask permission first. Tap Settings on the prompt, enable "Allow from this source" for Chrome, then go back and install.

Open the Admin App, create your account, add your store name and products, then create cashier PIN accounts.

⚠️ Why does Android warn me?

Android's Play Protect flags any app installed from outside the Play Store — automatically, regardless of what the app actually does. It's not a judgement on MiniPOS; it's a blanket warning for every direct-download app on Android.

Our Play Store listing is currently under Google's review process. Once it's approved, MiniPOS will install with zero warnings, straight from the Play Store, and this direct-download option will be retired.

If you'd rather wait, that's completely fine — we'll announce Play Store availability here and on WhatsApp.
